The Moore County Choral Society is a non-profit organization whose purpose is "to provide interested persons in or near Moore County the opportunity to join the Society, and rehearse and perform fine choral music; to increase the public awareness and appreciation of the musical arts; to educate, as well as entertain, both performer and audience; and to undertake such other programs, services, and performances which encourage participation and appreciation of other performing arts."

The Society depends on the generous financial support of individuals and business so that it may continue to enrich the cultural life of the community. Contributions are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

In 1989, the Society established an endowment that provides an annual scholarship for a choral music student at Sandhills Community College; in 2003, it initiated a scholarship to benefit a graduating senior at Pinecrest High School, who will continue to college and major in music.

A special Memorial Fund has been established to honor former members of the Society.
